Lopon Damchoe Wangmo

Lopon Damchoe Wangmo is a Canadian Buddhist nun from Saskatoon who was recently granted the degree of ‘Lopon’ (meaning ‘Master Teacher’), having graduated from the Ngagyur Nyingma Institute, the largest Nyingmapa academic institution outside of Tibet, founded by H.H. Penor Rinpoche.  Lopon Damchoe is the first-ever Western graduate of this rigorous nine-year program of philosophy and practice, which is open only to those who have taken monastic vows. Since completing her studies in 2012, Lopon Damchoe has been teaching the Dharma, interpreting for the lamas of the Palyul lineage, as well as translating Tibetan texts into English. She is currently serving as a resident teacher at Orgyan Dzong on behalf of Namdroling Monastery.
