2:00 pm: SPECIAL PRACTICE INHOUSE-LHA BAB DUCHENSPECIAL PRACTICE INHOUSE-LHA BAB DUCHENNovember 4, 2023 - 2:00 pm Happy Lha Bab Duchen! Please join us at the Centre to celebrate the prayer festival of Lha Bab Duchen. Lha Bab Duchen is one of the four holy days in the year when we celebrate and remember important events in the life of Buddha Shakyamuni. The Buddha is said to have returned from the heaven worlds where he had spent three months teaching the Dharma to his mother Mayadevi and the gods. Traditionally, Buddhists engage in many virtuous activities through this whole month (9th month of the lunar calendar). This is a very auspicious time to practice as much as possible, especially from the 16th to the 30th. If you are not able to practice every day, then on the 22nd day of the lunar calendar, it is extremely important to practice because it is said that the positive or negative effects of our actions on this day are multiplied by 10,000,000. |
