Welcome to the Ottawa Palyul Centre!

DEDICATED TO THE TEACHING AND PRACTICE OF BUDDHISM IN THE  NYINGMA PALYUL TRADITION

We are a registered Canadian charity with two mandates: to uphold and nurture the Buddha Dharma in Canada and to support the refugee children living at Namdroling Monastery in Byla Kuppe, South India. The Ottawa Palyul Centre welcomes diversity in all its forms and offers you a safe space in which to practice and discuss the Dharma.

ANNOUNCEMENTS & SPECIAL EVENTS

Losar Tashi Delek from the Ottawa Palyul Centre!

May the melodious beat of the Dharma drum beautify this world!

May all sentient beings be blissful and happy!

May they practice the Dharma through the day and night!

May all your practice bear fruit and this year be supremely successful for you!

This is a Bumgyur (100,000) month beginning with Losar on February 21st. the first day of the first month of the New Year.  The lunar month goes from new moon to new moon. In this 1st month of the Tibetan New Year the karmic results of all actions both positive and negative are multiplied by 100,000. The first 15 days of Losar commemorates the miracles that the Buddha performed to instill faith and devotion in the Dharma, so these days February 21 – March 7 are considered especially auspicious for practice.  February 19 – Gutor (no practice at the Centre) – is a special Vajrakilaya ritual carried out just before the Tibetan New Year to dispel all the negativity of the old year and clear the way for an auspicious beginning to the new year. It is customary to do Vajrakilaya practice on this day, please feel free to join another centre or practice on your own.

LOSARTUESDAY FEBRUARY 21, 7 – 9 p.m.  – Please join us at the Centre for auspicious prayers and Shower of Blessings Practice to welcome the New Year of the Water Rabbit!

In taking us through this text Lopon Rigzin Losal will help us to understand what it means to be a Bodhisattva and how we can follow in the footsteps of those who walk the path that joins primordial wisdom and loving compassion. We are sure that you will connect with Lopon Rigzin Losal’s in-depth knowledge, his enthusiasm, and concern for students who often have little opportunity to communicate informally with an authentically trained Nyingma teacher.

The Ottawa Palyul Centre wishes you a wonderful and auspicious month of practice.
