DEDICATED TO THE TEACHING AND PRACTICE OF BUDDHISM IN THE NYINGMA PALYUL TRADITION
We are a registered Canadian charity with two mandates: to uphold and nurture the Buddha Dharma in Canada and to support the refugee children living at Namdroling Monastery in Byla Kuppe, South India. The Ottawa Palyul Centre welcomes diversity in all its forms and offers you a safe space in which to practice and discuss the Dharma.
Vajrayana deity yoga practices are held on the 8th, 10th, 15th, 25th & 29th of the lunar month.
All English practice texts can be found here. Many are also available in Chinese, Spanish, and Greek.
Thank you for your support of our Centre and the children of Namdroling monastery. May all beings benefit!
Continuing this month – Mahayana Ground, Path & Fruition – teachings with Lopon Rigzin Losal – Sessions this month on April 6th, 13th, 20th, & 27th
In this teaching, Lopon Rigzin Losal will take us through a text that explains the Ground of Reality–how the two Truths (Relative and Ultimate) are established. Then the Path to Liberation–the two accumulations, the five paths, and the ten levels of spiritual development (Bhumis). Finally he will explain the result, the Fruition of practice– the five ‘bodies’ (manifestations of Buddhahood), the five wisdoms and other qualities of enlightenment. Lopon will teach from a draft text prepared by Khenpo Sonam Tsewang specifically for teachings on ‘Mahayana Ground, Path & Fruition’.

Resuming this month – Wednesday Meditation sessions with Ven. Samten Chodron – 59 Ways to Leave our Limiting Beliefs
What if you had a TV which changed channels and volume randomly and frequently and had no off button? Even worse, what if the chaotic equipment seemed to be hardwired into you? We were all born with sophisticated capacities, yet they often make our lives hell rather than heaven. We need an Operator’s Manual for the Human Heart/Mind. Fortunately, such a manual does exist. It’s been around since the 13th century and it works for all models and years! The Operator’s Manual is organized around 59 pithy reminders. Each one is a support for realizing the vast potential of the human heart/mind. Please join us weekly (or occasionally) Wednesdays for a period of guided meditation and contemplation and an introduction to one of the reminders. Since many of them are provocative, we may then have a lively discussion!
