Welcome to the Ottawa Palyul Centre!

We are a registered Canadian charity with two mandates: to uphold and nurture the Buddha Dharma in Canada and to support the refugee children living at Namdroling Monastery in Byla Kuppe, South India. The Ottawa Palyul Centre welcomes diversity in all its forms and offers you a safe space in which to practice and discuss the Dharma.

Khenchen Guru Teaches
"The Final Words of Tsele Natsok Rangdrol"

Requested by the Ottawa Palyul Centre

The Final Words of Tsele Natsok Rangdrol is one of the most concise and profound texts in the Ati-yoga tradition. Through his great generosity, this teaching is being given by Khenchen Tsewang Gyatso Rinpoche to those who have sincere trust in Dharma practice, especially in the methods of Vajrayana Buddhism.  Tsele Natsok Rangdrol’s teachings have the capacity to directly penetrate the fabric that is perpetually spun by our thoughts. We are extremely fortunate to have a great Dzogchen master to give us this teaching.

Pre-requisite: Khenchen says that all may attend the teaching – “As long as they are devoted into dharma, specially in Mahayana including Vajrayana then it is fine. If they have doubts about Mahayana and Vajrayana then no need to join. Other then that no other restrictions because I like to keep it more open for all, hoping at least cultivate some positive seed in them. Because dharma is the only way for relative happiness and ultimate peace.”

Teaching schedule: 3 weekends May 1/2, 8/9, and 15/16 – 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. each day Eastern Daylight Time.

Liturgy and Zoom link will be sent out once you register for the event.

Admission is by donation.

Happy Sagadawa!
Wishing all of you a very meritorious Bumgyur Dawa month.

Sagadawa, the 4th lunar month is one of the most auspicious and important months in the Tibetan lunar calendar year. Saga Dawa 2021 runs from May 12, 2021, – June 10, 2021. The 15th day of this lunar month, the full moon day, is called Saga Dawa Düchen (Düchen means “great occasion”). In 2021, Saga Dawa Düchen falls on Wednesday, May 26. This day is the single most important holy day of the year for Tibetan Buddhists.
Saga Dawa Düchen commemorates the birth, enlightenment, and parinirvana of our perfect and most supreme teacher, Buddha Shakyamuni.
Saga Dawa is also known as the month of merits; called Bumgyur Dawa, which means “merits multiplied by a hundred thousand times.” This is a great time to make extra efforts in practicing Dharma, generosity, and compassion to accumulate greater virtuous merits and purify our negative karmas. Please pray for the long life of all holy Gurus, for the survival and spreading of Buddha’s teachings in the minds of all sentient beings, and peace on earth. May all beings benefit!

  • Centre Closed during the Covid Pandemic – the physical space of the Ottawa Palyul Centre will be closed until such time that it is safe to re-open. We will, however, continue to sponsor special teachings by our Lamas on Zoom as well as offer fund-raiser meditation courses, so do check back frequently.
  • Regular sadhana practice during Covid – we encourage our sangha to join other Palyul Centres for practices led on Zoom by  resident Lamas.  Please check our calendar for practice dates and links.
  • Children of Namdroling Support – With your donations we were able to support the children by providing solar panels for hot water, bedding, vitamins and medications for their well being.

The Ottawa Palyul Centre is grateful for your generosity during this difficult time and we wish everyone the best of health.
